New Years Eve Countdown

This blog is dedicated to the computer program Microsoft Paint, related programs, and the infinite possible creations from the program. Paint allows you to create intricate drawings, that still look like they were drawn by you. I myself prefer Paint over other available programs, because others just don't look drawn. My goal is to be able to let people like YOU to get the chance to create your own pictures. I hope you will enjoy the pictures, as much as I enjoy drawing them.

The "Home" Page allows you to view the latest updates on a project.. If you are one of the people who are interested in creating your own pictures, please stop by the "Artist's Corner". The "Scratch" page contains a few Scratch games that I made with the pictures that I've drawn. You can explore the posts by simply scrolling down, or you can sort them by project with the "projects" bar below. Feel free to explore the blog, and comment any questions you have. I hope you will enjoy viewing these pictures, and maybe you can create your own!

More Scratch
I was going to make something on Scratch for Christmas, and I did, without sharing it here because it was nothing much. Just some quick animations, here's the link: http://scratch.mit.edu/studios/310280/. I've also decided to create something for new year's eve. How about a countdown? With animation when there's only 10 seconds left of 2013? That too was really quick, but it does look quite nice if I do say so myself. Here it is anyways, just click the flag.
Air Forces of the World Continued
I said yesterday that I would add planes from some airforces onto their roundels, and that's what I did today. My favourite will always be the CF-18, but in second place is the Thai F-16. Gotta admire them for being the first asian country with an airforce. Mainly because they were never colonized by a European country, another huge accomplishment. Anyways, I may make a huge collage of all the airforces of the world when I'm done a bit more, but that probably won't be for a while since I want to do quite a lot more airforces.

More Roundels
I'm sorry I haven't really posted recently, even though it is Christmas. I think I should draw something with a Christmas theme, but it's too late now. Anyways, here's some more roundels. I may use it for backgrounds, and add planes from the airforce in the foreground. I don't have time for that yet, but soon.

More Scratch
I was going to create a sequel to my first Scratch game, but it became too glitchy, so I've been working on other things to blow off some steam. I've made a 3D flight simulator, and a shooting game, both are below with instructions. Hope you guys enjoy, and have a happy holiday!

Air Forces of The World
Most of the time when I'm bored, I have my computer to relieve my boredom with programming on Scratch, or drawing on Paint. But when I don't have my computer, my options are limited. That's why I've been drawing more in real life recently, for school, and to get rid of boredom. Then when I draw in real life, I've drawn a fighter, in front of the roundel of it's air force. I'm going to make it a project, and alternate between real life drawing, and drawing on the computer. Here's the newest drawing in that new project, and Indian Air Force Mig-21.

Ships For "From Far and Wide"
I've already said before that I would be making a sequel to my first Scratch game, and in order to do that, I needed to draw more pictures for the characters. The game will be called "From Far and Wide". The name does come from a line in "Oh Canada!" and represents the ships coming back from naval exercises to defend Canada. Here's the link:http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/14900473/
I've drawn 3 enemy ships to add to the destroyer, and aircraft carrier I have already drawn. The Admiral Nakimov cruiser is the largest naval ship in the world. The Oscar II is a Russian balistic missile submarine. The last destroyer, is just a destroyer.

More Drawing in Real Life
The skills you learn from paint are really useful when drawing in real life, and this is the perfect example. On Paint, you draw straight lines, in real life, you draw straight lines too. And being able to judge the slopes is a useful skill to have.

Drawing in Real Life
Scratch on Microsoftpaintpro
I've found a way to embed the HTML (even I don't know what it is) to make my game playable from the blog. Makes it easier for you to find my game. If you have any comments, please leave them below.

...I lied
You know how last week I said I was going back to drawing on Paint? Well I lied, because now I'm making a sequel to my game, with ships. And I'm also planning to make a second sequel as a first person shooter, making the trilogy the three branches of the Canadian Forces. Hope you guys enjoy it.

back to the drawing board
I've just handed in my game assignment, so I'm done with that. Here's the link in case you want to play it: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/14162880/
Anyways, I'm going back to drawing now, starting with this. I just took one of the pictures I drew for my game and added a backdrop. It's the Super Arrow, and I've been meaning to draw this for a while.

More Planes (for Scratch game)
My game is due to my teacher this Friday, and since I'm pretty much done, I thought I'd program a bonus level in. I've decided that the bonus level will be you, controlling a Super Arrow, trying to dodge an attacking Mig-35, before trying to shoot it down. I've also added a M-50 bomber as one of the mini-bosses.

Scratch
Been working on Scratch a lot for the past few days. Not finished yet, but here's a link to the game. If by the off chance one of you guys know how to use Scratch, it's my first time using Scratch, so any comments on what I could do better would be appreciated. Otherwise, hope you like the first 6 missions, and more are to come.

A New Hobby
I just want to apologize for the lack of new posts. I've just gotten really addicted to programming my game, and got too carried away with it. Anyways, the game itself is due to my teacher next Friday, so I should be able to get back to drawing on paint soon.

True North
I've decided to call my game True North, since it's about defending Canada. I've written out the story, and already drawn the main character, and now I need enemy fighters. So I've drawn up the enemy aircraft I'm going to use. Both are Russian, and made during the cold war, which fits the story line.

Scratch
Found a new way to use my paint experience somewhere else. In school, my computer tech course has a project where we have to create a game using Scratch. We're not supposed to start working on the computer just yet, but I thought I'd play around a bit. I've decided that I'm going to take the CF-18 in the X-Jet 2.0 project, and use that as the character that you control, and the story is that the Russians are invading Canada during the cold war. I've got a good idea on how the story is going to go. (hint, the last mission involves shooting down a nuclear missile bound for Ottawa), and I'm really exited to get started on it soon. When I'm done, I'll share a link here. After that, I think I'm going to create another game just for fun, with the ships.

Hidden Messages
Art is supposed to be used to convey hidden messages, and so this is my first attempt to put messages in. This one is all about evolution vs. creation. I'm personally a believer of creation, but the point in this picture, is that both theories are equal. Creation sounds like a fairy tale, and evolution is more believable, but there really isn't any evidence for that. If evolution really happened, then there would be hundreds of fossils of pre-evolved humans. Except there aren't, so it's still a matter of faith.

Mix and Matched Ships
I notice that everyone of my previous posts have been seen at least once, except for this one. It's actually a pretty cool project that I did a while back, but like I said, nobody saw it. So here it is again, just because these old projects are just as important as my newer ones.
September 29, 2013:
Did the same thing I did to the planes a while ago with the ships. "Battleship the Game" depicts an ordinary game of Battleship. "Battle Group Dakota" shows a carrier battle group, escorted by destroyers, heading out to sea to keep the peace. My personal favorite of the three is "Hunter-Killer Task Group", which shows a small task group, assigned to hunting submarines in the Pacific. This was inspired by the true story of the U-505, which was captured by the American Navy in World War 2. In the picture, a submarine attempts to "crash dive"to avoid the anti-submarine destroyers.

Experiment
In case you didn't notice, I didn't actually draw the background for the new Super Arrow fan art. Instead, I actually took a picture of a maple leaf pin, and zoomed in, before adding the planes. This is an experiment to incorporate paint, into photography, it's really easy to do, and I might show you how to do it. In this case, the background is a sticker I got from cadets, with the CF-18.

The Changing Face of the RCAF
Spent the morning putting the formations onto the background, but it's finished now. I call it "The Changing Face of the RCAF". The planes are in chronological order by the year they entered/would have entered service with the RCAF. Along with a few air-show performers. Some of which are quite popular, the snowbirds, or the CF-18 Demonstration team, but there's also the Red Knight (red CT-133 Silverstar) and the Goldenhawks. This is possibly my best drawing, ever.

Formations
Last Bit of New Planes!
After a lot of hard work, I think I'm done. These are the last few planes that I need for the new fan art to the Super Arrow, coming up. First, there's the CF-18 Demonstration Team, relatively new, but still important to Canadian aviation. Then the CT-144 Tudor, forever immortalized as the light aircraft used by the Snowbirds. I'm hopeful that the new fan art will come out very well!

EVEN MORE PLANES!!!
Really really eager to finish all theses planes and put them together for The Super Arrow. So spent another hour re-colouring a bunch of planes as goldenhawks. In case you didn't know, goldenhawks are a team of stunt pilots, brought together to commemorate the golden 50th anniversary of flight in Canada. They returned for the 100th, and will likely return for the 150th. Also included is what the prototype Avro Arrow should have looked like, black just like the CF-100 Canuck prototype. Along with a re-coloured CF-5 Freedom Fighter, and a CF-86 Sabre.

More Planes 2.0
Just really inspired by my fan art being posted by the Super Arrow! So they want me to draw some planes that I missed in the picture, so I guess that's going to be my next challenge. Also, I drew a mock-up of my Air Cadet squadron logo.
